The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has mandated  owners of vehicles rendering transportation services to obtain a Permanent Account Number (PAN) immediately. The IRD has enforced the necessity of obtaining PAN as per tax laws for owners of transportation vehicles (trucks, tippers, and tractors) who have not yet obtained PAN, urging them to acquire this number promptly to conduct business.

The department has issued a warning to take action against those found violating the law by not obtaining the PAN. Previously, the IRD had mandated that the  vehicle owners must compulsorily obtain PAN.The department  has clearly stated that individuals who allow their vehicles to be operated either by themselves or by another person or organization for hire must also register in the PAN.
